Recent flooding in Peru swept away homes in San José de los Molinos and resulted in the deaths of fourteen people. The flooding destroyed homes and devastated crops. Families already grappling with poverty have lost all their possessions. Clean water and electrical services have been interrupted, and access to the area is limited because of damage to roads and bridges.

MISIUR, one of Oakseed’s Ministry Partners, has worked in San José de los Molinos since 2007. MISIUR has helped build homes in the region and offers Bible studies and spiritual support. Through the Center for Integral Development of the Child and its Family (CEDIN), MISIUR serves fifty children in the area and helps meet their educational, psychological, health, and nutritional needs. The flooding has damaged both the CEDIN center and the homes of many of the families MISIUR works within the region.
